Release: 21 October 2026
Cost Overview, Ask Frøy, and a More Flexible Transform Editor
App Builder now has a Cost overview that shows what your apps cost to build and run. The in-app helper Ask AI is now called Ask Frøy. This release also brings a more flexible Transform editor and a quicker way to create a simple M3 workflow without leaving App Builder.
AI & App Builder
Cost Overview
- Cost Button in App Builder: The app list in App Builder has a new Cost button, first in the toolbar. It opens a Cost dialog that shows how much AI usage your apps have generated and what it cost.
- Totals at a Glance: At the top you see the total Cost as a dollar amount, the Total tokens used (tokens are the units AI models measure their work in), and the number of sessions.
- Usage Over Time: A usage chart shows how the cost develops over time. You can show it as a chart or a table, and split it by, for example, user or model.
- Filters: Narrow the picture by Connection, User, Label, Range (from lifetime to the last 7, 30, or 90 days, or your own dates), and Granularity (daily or weekly). Under Refine returned usage, you can limit it to a system or an AI model.
- Token Breakdown: A Token breakdown separates input, output, and cache usage, and a note tells you when some usage has no price attached.
This makes it easier to follow what your apps cost, see which users, models, or periods drive the cost, and spot changes early. In the app editor, the build usage dialog now also uses the label Cost.
Ask Frøy
- New Name for the In-App Helper: Ask AI is now called Ask Frøy. The button in the top header and the title of the panel use the new name, and Frøy greets you when you open it. It works as before, with the same settings and the same documentation links.
Workflows
More Flexible Transform Editor
- Choose Your Layout: Use the switch in the editor header to pick Three columns (input, expression, and output side by side, the default) or Expression above output, which gives long expressions more room. Your choice is remembered in your browser.
- Continue Where You Left Off: The editor keeps your test input and the execution you loaded when you close and reopen the step, so you can continue testing without starting over.
- Easier Expression Writing: Pressing Enter keeps the indentation, closing brackets are indented correctly, regular expressions are highlighted, and the editor uses a monospace font.
Create M3 Workflows Without Leaving App Builder
- Simple M3 Workflow from Resources: In the app editor, open Resources, go to the Workflows tab, and choose New Workflow → Simple M3 Workflow. The M3 Workflow Builder opens in a dialog where you pick the connection, program, and transaction, give the workflow a name, and select Create.
- Ready to Use Straight Away: The new workflow appears in the resources list and can be used in your app immediately, without a test run. If the name is already taken, you can choose Use existing instead.
This option is shown for draft versions of an app, to users who have write permission on workflows.
Stability & Reliability Improvements
Administration
- Audit Log, Tenant Prompt, and MCP Servers are now capitalised consistently in the menu and on their pages.
Workflow Monitoring
- The workflow filter can now be reset.
- The Errors per day card is now called Avg Errors/Day.
Forms & Triggers
- Improved validation of email addresses.
- The value field is now disabled for the Is blank and Is not blank event trigger conditions, since they need no value.
Excel
- The Excel preview now shows columns beyond Z.
- Output fields in the Excel step can now be dragged onto empty cells.
These improvements give you clearer insight into what your apps cost, make the Transform editor more flexible, and continue improving the reliability and overall stability of Vince Platform.
