Deploy VXL-Live Excel add-in
VXL Live Add-in can be deployed to users via Microsoft Marketplace or Microsoft 365 centralized deployment, using either guided or manual options. Both staging and production environments are supported.
Depending on your organization’s IT policies, deployment can be handled by administrators or, if allowed, directly by end users from within Excel.
Deployment options overview
VXL Live can be deployed in the following ways:
1. Microsoft Marketplace (recommended)
- Available directly from Microsoft Marketplace

- Can also be managed centrally by administrators
2. Microsoft 365 centralized deployment (manifest-based)
- Manual or guided deployment via Microsoft 365 Admin Center
- Suitable for organizations with restricted Store access

Access
The following administrator roles grant access to deploy the Add-in:
- Global Admins
- Exchange admins
- Azure Application Admins
Additionally, you will be need the following information before deploying:
- Your tenant URL **(provided by your Vince AS contact)
- Add-in manifest URLs (provided further down in this guide)
Option 1: Deployment via Microsoft Marketplace (Recommended)
VXL Live is available on Microsoft Marketplace and can be installed directly from the listing:

Admin deployment via Marketplace
If your organization allows Marketplace usage:

Open Microsoft 365 Admin Center

Go to Settings → Integrated apps

Select Get apps
-
Search for VXL Live
-
Select the add-in and follow the guided deployment steps

Choose whether to deploy to:
-
Specific users / groups
-
entire org
-
User self-installation via Excel (if allowed by IT policy)
If users are allowed access to the Microsoft Store:

Open Excel
-
Go to Insert → Get Add-ins
-
Search for VXL Live
-
Select Add
Note: If Store access is blocked by IT policy, users will not see the add-in and centralized deployment must be used instead.
Option 2: Administrator deployment steps
- Go to https://admin.microsoft.com
- Open Settings > Integrated apps

Click Upload custom app

Select Office Add-in and enter the manifest URL:
- Production: https://vxl.vince.live/manifest.prod.xml
- Staging: https://vxl.vince.live/manifest.staging.xml (only if agreed with customer contact)

Click Validate and after successful validation, continue the guide to select which users to deploy to.

Now finish the guided setup to deploy.

You can now see the deployment(s) in the listing.

User setup steps (if needed)
Normally, this is done automatically but it can take a while before the add-in is deployed within your organisation.
For users to manually add the add-in in their Excel client, they can do the following.

Open any Excel sheet, or create a new one

On the Insert tab, click My Add-ins

Go to the Admin Managed tab, and click Refresh to see all available add-ins.

Select any add-in, and select Add

All your add-ins are now added into Excel.
The first time the user starts the add-in, they need to enter the tenant alias provided.

You can also run both staging and production environments side by side within the same sheet.
