Narine Løvaas
Odesa, Ukraine
Business consultant, M3 Finance
Narine Løvaas speaks many languages. Coming from Ukraine, she speaks Ukrainian and Russian. She understands Armenian, and to top it off she speaks both English and Norwegian, the latter being the latest addition to her assortment of jargons, after moving there with her husband – a Norwegian – in 2010.
The most important language in her professional career, though, might be that of Infor M3 Finance. At Vince, she will be taking on the role as business consultant, lending her expertise to Infor M3 users who need help with implementation, managing, taxes, accounting and fulfilling legal and regulatory requirements – to name a few of her skills.
– In M3 Finance, we basically oversee the entire ERP system. Everything the system produces – every transaction, every record – it ends up in finance. If anything is wrong anywhere, it almost always shows up in the books, says Løvaas in a cocktail of northern and eastern Norwegian dialect.
After many years of experience, Narine's become a seasoned M3 pro. For many years, though, she never even considered this path.
– I’ve been working with several ERP systems as both an accountant and controller in earlier jobs, and there were so many codes, names and systems. It was really confusing at times, she says, and recounts an incident at a former job.
She was working on the period-end closing and reporting to the parent company. It was 5:00 PM and everything was due the next morning at 9:00 AM. Then, the system crashed, and communication between the ERP-system and the reporting system was lost. But since the company was publicly listed, the deadline could not be pushed.
– At 6:00 PM, the company was going on a little retreat, so I ended up spending a significant part of the evening side by side with the CFO, scrambling and trying to wrap up the work, she tells, acting out the stress level.
When she got back home, Løvaas stayed up all night until she sent the final e-mail at 3:30 AM, confirming that everything was in order. Five hours later, she and her husband left for a weekend trip to Berlin.
– That gives you an idea of how important that was, both to me and the company. Having felt this stress myself, I know how important it is to our customers. That’s a big strength in this line of work.
Narine was drawn to the Vince by a combination of factors, including the strong endorsements from people she knew and trusted. During her interview, she felt an immediate connection, describing it as a relaxed, friendly atmosphere where she could be herself.
– The culture here is great, and it makes for a great place to work and to grow both personally and professionally, she says enthusiastically.
– Also, many of the people who work here are so talented – they could’ve worked anywhere. So, the fact that they chose Vince, and continue to choose Vince, is just a huge stamp of approval, she ends.
