Mowi ASA, formerly Marine Harvest ASA, is the world's largest producer of farmed Atlantic salmon. Headquartered in Bergen and listed on the Oslo Stock Exchange, the company harvested around 475,000 tonnes in 2023, roughly 20% of the global market, and serves customers in more than 70 countries. Few salmon producers control as much of the chain as Mowi does, from genetics and feed to farming, harvesting, processing, logistics, sales and marketing.
Farming is concentrated in Norway, Scotland, Canada, the Faroe Islands, Ireland and Chile. In 2018, Mowi began rolling out Infor M3 Cloud Edition across the whole organization.

Mowi invested in Vince Excel Add-In in 2018. Within six months, more than 100 end users had picked it up. Today it supports a long list of critical daily processes, including spot-market prices, sales contracts, purchase agreements, budget figures, transport rates for internal calculations and the import of production orders.

A tool that spread across the business
Most of Mowi's business units use it, with Infor M3 as the main ERP system. When a new production site is set up, the team builds master data across all the required registries with the Excel Add-In. It can be a huge job, but reusable templates keep it moving.
The templates draw on the business logic and rule sets in M3, combined with the tailor-made global template that Mowi has set as its standard. Even external consultants use the tool to work more effectively.
