Founded in 1884, Pfaudler is a global supplier of process equipment for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, operating across four continents with over 800,000 items managed in its ERP by a three-person IT team.
The 15-year problem
Some problems stick around so long they become part of the furniture. For Pfaudler, one of those problems was finding parts by technical specs like length, diameter and materials.
– This was pretty challenging for our engineers when they tried to search for items with specific attributes, explains Elisabetta Venezia, Group ERP Director at Pfaudler.
Integrating custom fields into their item search turned out to be the solution, letting engineers filter by exact technical attributes and use flexible parameters like "longer than" or "smaller than."
– We had this problem for 15 years and Vince solved it in about 2 days. It's been a real breakthrough. Finally our engineers can do what they want directly in Infor M3 with a little click on the search button.
Not just another efficiency tool
– If I told my employees that they'd lose Vince tomorrow, I am absolutely sure that many of them would resign, or at least be very unhappy, because I would have removed a very important tool from their lives, speculates Venezia.
The ripple effects at Pfaudler have been significant: Happier employees, better communication between departments and more innovation and business development happening.
– I'm getting a lot more feedback from our users. With these tools, they see new opportunities for improving processes. So the Vince tools are helping us work more efficiently, but it also driving both ERP and business development at Pfaudler as a whole, she smiles.
