APRIL 14th: EU ViDA reforms take effect, making e-Invoicing mandatory from July 2030.
From July 2030, all intra-community B2B transactions must use electronic invoices. These e-invoices need to follow a common EU standard format (EN-16931), enabling real-time digital reporting and cross-border transparency.
– European collaboration is getting stronger, and the newly adopted ViDA rules prove it, says Fredrik Heimerback, chief services officer at Vince.
You have to prepare
The new reform means that e-invoicing won’t just be recommended, but mandatory.
– This will affect every EU business, so this really isn’t something you can ignore, warns Heimerback.
– Even if your company rarely trades across borders, the shift to standardized e-invoices and automated VAT reporting will touch your finance, IT and compliance processes. This is a change on a continental scale, and now is the time to prepare.
